"The
titles which complete the work, are
lifted from the encyclopedia of misery.
It is not the kind of suffering that
yells out in agony, however, but the dull
ache of eternal damnation. Like Triage,
they describe the underbelly of the human
condition."

Triage [Fr.sorting].
The screening and classification of sick,
wounded, or injured persons during war or
other disasters to determine priority
needs in order to insure the efficient
use of medical and nursing manpower,
equiptment, and facilities.
Classification is concerned with three
groups: 1. those who will live without
any therapy of any kind; 2. those who are
expected to die no matter what treatment
is provided; and 3. the priority group,
those who will survive if given adequate
care.
